Idaho was among the last state hit by coronavirus cases, and one of the last to shut down schools in March. Now, four months later, cases are surging, and state education leaders and Governor Brad Little consider how and whether to reopen schools. Meanwhile, those same schools may benefit from a proposed education-funding ballot initiative proposed by advocacy group Reclaim Idaho. But before voters can weigh in, it needs enough signatures to get on the November 2020 ballet. Enter Gov. Little, who’s trying to stop the coronavirus-caused online signature gathering effort by appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court. Helping sort out everything is Kevin Richert with Idaho Education News.
