Pitzer Launches B.A. for Incarcerated Students

Pitzer College is launching a bachelor’s degree program for incarcerated students, according to a media advisory.

The college, which is a member of the Claremont Colleges in California, claims to be the first college in the nation to create such a program. The program will use inside-out curriculum, meaning both incarcerated students and Pitzer students will take the courses inside a correctional facility.

The inaugural cohort begins this year at the California Rehabilitation Center and has eight incarcerated students who are expected to graduate by the end of 2021.
